We are a leading independent practice in York, having a significant presence in Yorkshire, as a long established, yet growing accountancy, tax and business advisory firm.
Role overview
Working within our Audit and Advisory Team, as Audit Manager / Senior Manager, you will be a key member of our Team. Your typical daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Managing a portfolio of clients including both audit and preparation of financial statements as well as other compliance services.
2. Managing the day-to-day running of audit assignments, including supervision of the onsite team.
3. Ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
4. Reviewing audit and accounts files to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
5. Communicating effectively with engagement partners to highlight any audit issues in a timely manner.
6. Supervision and mentoring of junior staff, providing training, guidance and feedback.
7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, providing proactive advice and insights.
8. Supporting the development of new business and contributing to firm growth.
Person specification / Academic requirements
A strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards. Previous experience conducting financial audits and preparing financial statements. A professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA) is required. You will demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting as well as excellent communication skills. You should be able to manage a client portfolio in a pro-active way and good organisational skills are essential.
Working arrangements
The working week: 35 hours per week, to be worked from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Location: Heritage House, Murton Way, Osbaldwick, York YO19 5UW.
