We support our team members to reach their full potential in an inclusive environment that values diversity.The RoleThe role of Health and Safety Coordinator supporting the Whitehaven Consumer Packaging site, will have a reporting line for HS&E topics to the Site Operational Lead.We are looking for someone who can support the implementation of proactive health, safety and environmental initiatives at site to continually drive forward the positive culture currently embedded.A brief overview of the responsibilities are noted below:Effectively work to the site Safety Excellence System including the maintenance of the system processes as well as the e2 Environmental Excellence SystemDevelop action plans and track progress in line with the Smurfit Westrock HS&E strategySupport the management team with completion of in-depth learning events for any site-based incidents to determine suitable preventative control measures and assist in implementation of those actionsWork with the site stakeholders, including operations, quality and HR teams to promote and drive a positive safety cultureOrganise and chair regular Safety Committee MeetingsEncourage and support the use of the Smurfit Westrock Benchmark reporting portal for Health and Safety concerns, incidents, and metricsSupport and coordinate external audits for accreditations including ISO14001 and ISO45001Knowledge, skills, experienceAny previous health, safety or environmental experience or qualifications would be desirable but not essential as full support and training will be providedLead by example attitudeGood, confident communication skills both verbal and writtenAble to effectively manage time and work autonomouslyBehaviours:Team playerProblem solverSelf-motivatedWork on own initiativeOrganisedAttention to detailGood level of accuracySupport:Full training will be supported ISO accreditation training will be availableFull Smurfit Westrock health and safety systems training, and familiarisation will be organised for this roleSupport will be provided by the Regional H&S LeaderWhat We OfferCompetitive salary & benefits, including annual leave, pension, and a Cycle to Work schemeOngoing training and development opportunities24/7 confidential support for you and your familyFree Onsite ParkingFlexible working options and family-friendly policiesGuaranteed interview for candidates meeting essential criteria (Disability Confident Employer)Ready to make an impact?
