About The Role

In our young person’s accommodation in Carn Brea Foyer - Redruth, our Relief Youth Development Workers work as part of a larger Support team to provide support services to people, some with complex needs who are experiencing substance misuse issues and/or mental ill health.
You will be working days/weekends on an adhoc basis covering sickness or annual leave to provide a safe, secure and supportive service. You will support and monitor the conduct, health and safety and general welfare of residents with a flexible and sensitive approach.
These are being offered on a relief contract basis, working flexibly to include days/weekends as and when cover is required.

About The Candidate
To be considered for the role of Relief Youth Development worker, you will be/have:
* An ability to engage with a range of young people.
* A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people.
* A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues.
* An understanding of support needs and support planning.
* An understanding of risk assessing and risk management.
Ideally you will be:
* Innovative and creative in your ways of working.
* Resilient and flexible in dealing with others.
* Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Confident in lone working and be a good team player.
