This internship program is designed to offer students the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real work environment during their Professional Training Year (Placement), develop practical skills and enrich their CV. This Placement is for a fixed 13 months internship role from August 2025. We are looking for someone who wants to have a real impact on our organization, who is willing to learn from industrial professionals but who can also bring a new set of ideas to problems. The projects you will be working on will be broad-ranging and varied in size, giving you exposure to the principles of manufacturing engineering & technology and, how a project environment operates. In this role, you will be responsible for: - Improving and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the Flowserve Valve Manufacturing plant - Assist in Assembly and Test projects in the manufacturing site - Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement Projects - Supporting manufacturing in day to day activities - A good balance of office work and being hands on in a shop floor environment - Problem solving on live issues on manufacturing processes to keep production going - Participate in Operational Excellence daily meetings and support the manufacturing activities Preferred Experience / Skills : We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and motivated undergraduates who are en-route to obtaining a degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and have the following skills: - a practical adeptness and logical approach to problem solving - a 'can do' attitude - excellent analytical skills - the ability to work own initiative to tight deadlines - good English verbal and written communication skills - high attention to detail - flexible and adaptable Applicants will ideally be on track to achieving a 2:1 degree.
