Job overview
As a key member of Liverpool Women's fertility service management team, the Clinical Services Manager will be responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and efficient services across both centres, reporting into the Person Responsible.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder is expected to ensure optimum quality of care and clinical excellence is achieved by working in collaboration with clinical teams, patients, and patient representatives.
2. The post holder will implement patient-centred clinical and nursing operational strategy and plans, ensuring that systems and processes comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements including linking with external bodies such as commissioners when required utilising the expertise and skills of the wider divisional team.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To deliver safe services
2. Provide clinical leadership, coordinating and assuring the highest standards of care for patients as measured by HFEA standards and trust performance indicators.
3. Provide professional nursing and AHP leadership on the organisation and management of care.
4. Monitor the provision and delivery of support services ensuring that these are designed and delivered to achieve the highest standard of care.
5. Support in ensuring best practice in infection prevention and control is adopted by all staff at all times.
6. Work in collaboration with the Facilities team to ensure that support services, and cleaning schedules are reflective of the needs of the clinical areas and that the environment is maintained appropriately.
7. Act as patient's advocate in promoting, and delivering the highest standard of care, and monitor compliance against current, relevant policies and procedures.
8. Provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence to whom patients and their partners can turn for assistance.
9. Ensure the fundamental and essential aspects of fertility care are met and measured by benchmarking.
10. Lead clinical governance initiatives ensuring a process of quality improvement and driving up standards of nursing care.
11. Contribute to developing and measuring and monitoring Key performance indicators.
12. Ensure that equipment is clean, well maintained and fit for purpose and that staff are trained in its use accordingly.
13. Provide support and advice on issues relating to safeguarding children/protecting children/domestic violence and vulnerable adults for nurses/midwives and support staff in the Division.
14. Contribute to Clinical Governance, HFEA, Quality improvement requirements, Research and Development initiatives, providing professional advice and leadership. Provide evidence for compliance and lead on action plans where gaps are identified.
15. Report and record all adverse clinical incidents and investigate as needed, reporting and providing evidence of learning as appropriate.
16. Comply with the HFEA and Trust policy for management and administration of medicines, proactively working with clinical teams to reduce the severity of medicine related incidents.
17. Identify areas of special interest, practice development, and service improvement delegating to team members as appropriate.
18. Undertake relevant clinical skills and functions in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct to maintain professional competence, authority and credibility.
19. Be part of the manager on call rota.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse/AHP
* First degree in nursing or health related subject or equivalent
* Extensive experience at ward Manager level
* Leadership qualification or evidence of leadership skills
* Master's degree or working towards
