Our Teaching Assistants are vital in ensuring each student reaches their full potential. Each TA does this by developing positive working relationships with our students, understanding their likes, dislikes, and interests so that all lessons are personalised for each student.
Our sixth form, based at Airfield Road in Christchurch, offers a unique and tailored approach to further education for our students aged between 16 - 18 years old. We support our learners with preparation for adulthood by cooking meals, providing guidance to help students attend and get to and from 6th form alone on public transport, and engaging in physical activities such as bike rides, swimming, and much more.
Our students make use of our swimming and sensory facilities. Some students also go off to work placements across the local county to explore key areas of interest as they finish their learning. Some providers include Moors Valley, Tuckton Ferries, and the Marriott Hotel, to name a few.
Working within Portfield School is rewarding, and we guarantee that no two days will be the same. This role may come with challenges that are both physically and emotionally demanding at times. You will not be alone! Ongoing support will always be available from your team members, line manager, Leadership team, Mental Health First Aiders, or our Employee Assistance programme.
