Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to provide high-level technical support and infrastructure management across multiple office locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining and enhancing IT systems, and ensuring optimal performance of the companys network, servers, and cloud environments. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Azure Administration, Microsoft 365 Administration, Networking, Cisco, VMware, Meraki, and WatchGuard. Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure & Systems Support Provide 3rd line technical support for IT infrastructure, ensuring prompt issue resolution and minimal downtime. Manage, maintain, and optimize Windows Server, VMware, and cloud-based infrastructure. Support and troubleshootserver hardware, virtualization, and storage systems. Assist in maintaining and improving Active Directory, Entra ID, and Group Policy configurations. Work with the IT team to monitor system performance, patching, and security updates. Manage and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions. Networking & Security Manage and troubleshoot networking equipment, including Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi and WatchGuard. Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network infrastructure. Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, VLANs and network routing. Support security best practices, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection, and endpoint security. Cloud & Microsoft Services Administer and support Microsoft 365, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. Manage and optimize Microsoft Azure services, including Entra ID, virtual machines, identity management, and cloud storage. Troubleshoot and support hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration. Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues. Provide escalation support for 1st and 2nd line engineers and liaise with vendors when required. Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, processes, and incident resolution steps. On-Site Support & Collaboration Provide hands-on support at office locations around the M25, including Watford, High Wycombe and London. Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure smooth IT operations. Collaborate with the Cyber Security Team to implement security controls and patch management. Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience in a 3rd Line IT support or infrastructure role. Strong knowledge ofMicrosoft Azure Administration and Microsoft 365 Administration. Experience with networking technologies : LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, DHCP, DNS. Experience with vendors : Dell, HPE, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi and WatchGuard. Virtualization expertise : VMware, Hyper-V. Server and storage management : Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, SAN storage. Cloud-based services : Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams. Security & Compliance : Patch management, endpoint security, firewall administration. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex IT issues. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Willingness to travel between office locations. (Travel expenses will be enumerated) Desirable Skills (Bonus): Linux (Ubuntu, Debian). PowerShell scripting and automation. Database support (SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL). Experience with FreshService or other helpdesk solutions. Experience with IT compliance and regulated environments. ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management best practices. Working Conditions: Location: Office-based with travel to sites around the M25, including Watford, High Wycombe, London and Dartford. Hours: Standard office hours, with occasional out-of-hours work required for system maintenance and upgrades. Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). Why Join Us?
