Role: Admissions Adviser
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary from £24,720 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: Wednesday 8am - 6pm, Thursday 8am - 1.30pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm
Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part Time – Fixed until 31 October 2025
About the role:
We are currently seeking an Admissions Adviser to join our Customer Services department at The Bedford College group .
As a Admissions Adviser, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Student Admissions Service - Process applications; ensure completeness; act as main contact for courses; organize interviews and events; assess fee status; follow conversion processes; maintain data accuracy.
2. Information, Advice, and Guidance - Provide accurate and impartial advice; solve complex enquiries; support course and financial applications; communicate proactively; refer to Student Services; record interactions.
3. Customer Experience - Ensure positive enrolment experience; maintain knowledge of courses and funding; contribute to knowledge database; support front desk; record customer feedback.
4. Team Collaboration - Work with Marketing, Communications & Student Recruitment Directorate; participate in recruitment events; attend curriculum meetings; disseminate information.
5. Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality, and diversity; follow health and safety requirements; participate in training and development.
About you:
6. Education and Qualifications - Level 3 education, GCSE English and Maths, continued professional development, Level 4 IAG qualification or willingness to undertake.
7. Experience and Knowledge - Administration role experience, customer-facing environment, client confidentiality and GDPR, effective working relationships, high performance, diverse backgrounds, promoting equality and diversity, providing advice through various communication methods.
8. Skills - High level of English grammar, excellent interpersonal and IT skills, quick learning of processes, data analysis, effective communication with stakeholders, good organisational skills, collaborative work, promoting college reputation.
9. Attributes - Professional behaviour and appearance, self-motivated and enthusiastic, flexible work patterns, ability to travel independently, safeguarding responsibilities, maintaining personal boundaries.
10. Continuous Improvement - Willingness to update skills and knowledge.
