The project:
Mace consult manages the international project management office (IPMO) for this international bank’s corporate services (CS) workspace team. This role is responsible for capital projects delivery throughout the region supported by Mace’s MEP design lead.
You will provide design assurance for the client’s capital projects in the region. The workplace standards team is responsible for overseeing and assuring workspace design delivered within their respective regions. You will work closely with the delivery teams to provide targeted training, ongoing guidance, and governance through the development and delivery of designs aligned to the global standards. Subject matter experts in workspace design, covering all aspects of office design, including architectural, interior design, and brand implementation.

We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking design manager to join our established and growing team in London.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Providing project level design assistance and guidance to project delivery teams where required.
* Providing design governance to agreed projects, assessing compliance with the bank’s global standards.
* Tracking design governance progress and compliance status through reporting mechanisms.
* Identifying deviations from bank’s design standards and managing review with required stakeholders. Managing and tracking deviations through agreed mechanisms.
* Providing guidance in the development of local variants of design standards or specific elements including documenting any local design standards.
* Liaising with all necessary global stakeholders to ensure approval of local variants to designs.
* Feeding into the design communications plan by sharing design successes, key learnings, and market knowledge/insights.
You’ll need to have:
* A degree in engineering, building surveying, or architecture, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
* Ideally, commercial/private sector experience, working with clients in the banking/finance sector would be highly valued.
You’ll also have:
* Membership of CIBSE, CIOB, ARB, RIBA, MICE RICS, CIAT, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
* Depth of experience of managing relationships with many key senior stakeholders.
* Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes through all stages.
* Extensive knowledge of statutory regulations, in particular building regulations, fire regulations, planning, and listed building consent.
* Extensive experience working with statutory utility bodies.
* Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
* Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
* Confidence in working with digital design and management programmes.
