GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Wimborne. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to helping students with diverse learning needs thrive in an inclusive classroom environment.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with students who require additional support due to learning difficulties, disabilities, or other special educational needs. You will assist in providing a nurturing and structured learning environment, ensuring that all students receive the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed.

Special Needs TA Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs.
* Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials.
* Encourage students to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills.
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Use strategies to manage behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.
* Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
Requirements needed for an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
* Experience working with students with SEN needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable.
* A background in psychology, education, childcare, or health and social care is beneficial.
* Understanding of various SEN issues like autism, ADHD etc.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student support.
* Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt accordingly.

* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
