At the start of the 2025/26 academic year, the department will support approximately 300 A Level learners across 26 subjects, along with the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales (ASBW). Additionally, around 35 students will be enrolled in the vocational Level 3 Applied Science program. Salary Details : Scale MS1– MS6 (£50,320 - £58,544 per annum) Contract Type: Salaried (Management) Permanent Hours of work: Full time - 37 hours per week Holiday Entitlement: 37 days plus statutory bank holidays & College efficiency closures (per annum) Qualifications You will hold a degree in a relevant field and; You will hold a recognised teaching qualification. It is highly desirable to hold an ILM or recognised management qualification. If not held, it is essential to undertake and achieve this within an agreed timescale. Experience You will have strong knowledge of Curriculum Areas, subject content, and best practices for teaching and learning. With experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative curriculum initiatives, you will create high-quality materials tailored to diverse learner needs. You will understand assessment processes, quality assurance, financial planning, resource management and national benchmarking. A track record of managing teams, mentoring staff, and contributing to curriculum development is highly advantageous. You will have experience of embedding effective pastoral support systems, including UCAS support, and effective learner tracking and monitoring systems. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to motivate staff and learners toward achieving agreed goals. A strong understanding of current and emerging developments in A Level and Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales provision—both across the county and throughout Wales—is essential. Self-motivated and enthusiastic, you will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively. This role requires exceptional people management skills, including the ability to reflect, make sound yet swift decisions, and adapt to an ever-changing educational environment. This role will be undertaken on the College premises in Haverfordwest. The College has a flexible working policy but due to the nature of the role, home or remote working cannot be agreed.
