The role We are seeking to appoint a Programme Director (Senior Lecturer) for the Forensic Psychology Doctorate which will commence in Autumn 2025. Main purpose of the job: You will have responsibility for the development of our new Professional Doctorate in Forensic Psychology, and its subsequent leadership and development. We are applying for accreditation of this programme with the HCPC and the BPS. This role will include managing and monitoring the development of the Doctorate in Forensic Psychology within the Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes Portfolio and its associated operational administration, curriculum development, and quality management and enhancement (including accreditation / registration by relevant professional institutions where appropriate). You will work with the Director of Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes to develop efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accord with the Faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas the Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes Portfolio and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes Portfolio and the Faculty. Specific Purposes of the job: Lead on the development and delivery of the DForensic Programme in line with the curriculum Lead and oversee the assessment strategy including module descriptors, marking process in line with TQA Moderate assessments across the programme Lead on Accreditation / registration submissions as needed in conjunction with the DCPGR Portfolio Director Support and mentor programme team members Lead on recruitment with the support of the DCPGR Portfolio Director Provide teaching as needed Lead on development, expansion and marketing of the DForens to support programme sustainability Support the Director of Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes with strategic, commissioning and other funding developments Contribute to regional and national committees as needed Contribute to Doctoral Clinical PGR Programmes Porfolio and Faculty working groups and developments as needed Develop and line manage a Programme Team to support with the delivery of the programme. About you Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a doctorate level training or the necessary equivalent in Forensically relevant research and practice in order to teach and support learning on Forensic Psychology modules. Possess a good honours degree in Psychology or a related discipline (at least a 2:1 or equivalent). Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher/ be very experienced as a Forensic Psychologist in applied settings with experience of training Forensic Psychologists. Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
