With a focus on individual care and tailored interventions, this role offers the opportunity to assist pupils with special educational needs and help them reach their full potential. About the Role: This position involves working closely with pupils who present a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties and emotional and behavioural challenges. As an SEN Learning Support, you will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment while closely collaborating with teachers and SEN professionals. Key Responsibilities: Provide dedicated one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional needs. Assist in the delivery of bespoke learning plans tailored to each student’s requirements. Encourage and develop students’ academic, emotional and social progress. Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies and student support plans. Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with class teachers and the SENCO. Foster a nurturing, respectful and supportive classroom climate. Support students during transition times, break/lunch times and any off-site educational activities. Job Requirements: Previous experience working with SEN children or young people, preferably in a school setting. Understanding of a variety of SEN conditions, such as ASD, ADHD and speech and language difficulties. Empathy, patience and a positive mindset to support students in overcoming barriers to learning. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with students and collaborate effectively with staff. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is beneficial. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
