Senior Administrator
Taskmaster Recruitment are looking for an Senior Administrator to work for our client based in Peterborough.
Shift: Monday to Friday (office hours)
Pay rate: £12.50 - £13.00ph
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a mortgage administration role within a financial services environment.
Solid understanding of the UK mortgage market, including different types of mortgage products (fixed-rate, tracker, buy-to-let, remortgage, etc.).
Experience liaising with lenders, solicitors, and clients throughout the mortgage application process.
Proficiency with mortgage-related CRM systems and lender platforms.
Experience in maintaining compliance with FCA regulations and data protection standards.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of the mortgage application process, from initial submission to completion.
Ability to handle multiple mortgage applications simultaneously and prioritise workloads efficiently.
Competence with financial documentation (payslips, bank statements, SA302s, ID checks).
Familiarity with mortgage affordability criteria and lender requirements.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with client management software.
Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:
Up-to-date understanding of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
Knowledge of GDPR and data protection regulations, ensuring all documentation and client data is handled securely.
Ability to ensure that all client files are maintained in line with FCA guidelines and company policy.
Experience in managing file audits and ensuring full compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
Communication and Client Relations:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and solicitors.
Ability to provide high-quality customer service and handle client queries professionally and efficiently.
Experience managing client expectations throughout the process and providing regular updates.
Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with mortgage advisors, underwriters, and other team members.
Organisation and Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation and application submission.
Ability to manage deadlines effectively, ensuring all applications progress smoothly and in a timely manner.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and handle several cases at different stages of the process.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
Ability to handle complex cases, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with lenders to resolve problems.
Experience identifying and addressing potential application delays and proactively finding solutions.
Confidence in dealing with challenging scenarios (e.g., declined applications, document discrepancies).
Adaptability and Initiative:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
Proactive approach to identifying potential improvements in administrative processes and suggesting solutions.
Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations and lender requirements.
Proven ability to take the initiative in maintaining case progression, addressing bottlenecks, and ensuring smooth client journeys.
Integrity and Background:
Must undergo and pass a criminal record check (DBS) as part of the hiring process.
Clean financial background, free from bankruptcies, IVAs, or CCJs.
High ethical standards, with a commitment to client confidentiality and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
No history of involvement in financial misconduct or fraudulent activities.
Desirable:
CeMAP qualified or working towards a mortgage qualification (though not essential).
Experience working in a fast-paced brokerage or financial advisory environment.
Familiarity with protection products (life insurance, critical illness cover) and basic insurance administration.
