Project Manager – Solar & BESS
Infinis is a leading low-carbon energy generator. We capture methane from landfill sites and disused mines and use it to create electricity. Your role
As the Project Manager, you will report to the Head of Construction and support the development team during the planning phase, responsible for the pre-construction and construction phases of our large-scale ground-mounted solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from inception to delivery. Your key responsibilities will include interpreting civil and electrical drawings, overseeing contracting, construction, commissioning, and delivery, conducting on-site quality checks, and ensuring that all work meets our strict health, safety and quality standards. You will manage risks, budgets, and all project documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations.
This hybrid role involves weekly site visits to projects currently in the Manchester area, with the potential for you to manage other sites as consent is granted, remote work, and monthly team meetings at our Head Office in Northampton. This flexibility enables you to manage your time effectively and experience the diverse aspects of our projects, which are based all over the UK.
What you will do
* Support the design inputs, procurement, and the preparation of the planning phase
* Support contract negotiations, ensuring accurate scopes of work and programmes
* Support all pre-construction activities across all projects, working closely with the civils and electrical contractors
* Assist with obtaining construction-specific regulatory consents when required
* Management of contractors, sub-contractors, and internal resources to safely conduct construction and commissioning activities HS&E compliance, including the requirements of CDM Regulations and quality management
* Ensure all construction insurance licenses are in place for all projects that you manage
* Manage risk and mitigate as necessary in support of the project strategy
* Coordination of key completion milestone events, including project energisation, contractual taking-over and internal handover of the project to the Asset Management Team
* Provide DSEAR file, handover pack, and deliver training to assist in the operation and management of the projects
* Ensuring that feedback about supplier performance is provided to the procurement department during and following construction
* Preparation of variances of budgets, costs, and forecasting to completion
* Provide accurate internal and external project communications
Is this a job for you?
* Relevant experience leading utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects
* Excellent project management skills who can coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to grid connections and interconnections.
* A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work under pressure and manage complex issues.
* You are proactive and structured with a problem-solving mindset and can deal with potential issues and address concerns independently.
* You have a full UK driving licence, live within a 1-hour commute of the Manchester area, and can be visible on site 2 -4 days a week; the role will require you to travel further distances depending on project location with occasional overnight stays
