Job summary This is a 2 year fixed-term post under Manchester International Training Fellowship programme. The appointee would be based in cardiothoracic transplantation and organ retrieval service for 12 months and further 12 months in adult cardiothoracic surgery depending on the needs of department and trainee. The role will combine working alongside and supporting consultant transplant surgeons within theatre with organ transplants and with the organ retrieval teams providing an on-call service on a full shift basis on a EWTD compliant rota. This post is suitable for individuals seeking a period of higher training in transplant and organ retrieval to hone their skills. Candidates will also get adult cardiothoracic surgery experience and exposure to CABG, Valve procedures and complex multi-valve surgeries and mechanical circulatory support. The postholder will also be required to join the transplant rota to cover the CTCCU and transplant ward.
