Network Development Specialist - SC Cleared
Location: Basingstoke - No remote working
Compensation: To £55k + Bonuses
Clearance: You will hold SC Clearance at the moment and be willing and able to undergo DV Clearance.
Job Overview:
A global IT Consultancy is looking for an SC Cleared Network Development Specialist to join their Defence Practice. You will be responsible for the research, planning, evaluation, and creation of design artefacts (both high and low level) by applying engineering design theories and principles to develop a compelling solution that meets our customers' requirements. You will also be responsible for automating the deployment of the solution, where possible, and creating professional documentation to accompany all components produced. The provision of 4th Line support, directly with vendors, is required through to successful resolution.
Your Skills and Experience:
1. Experience in providing high quality solutions and documentation using a structured approach for components with varying degrees of complexity.
2. Experience in the production of design artefacts (architectural overview documents, high-level and low-level designs).
3. Demonstrable understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
4. Demonstrable understanding of NAT, GRE Tunnelling protocol, DMVPN Tunnelling Protocol, Subnetting & Supernetting.
5. The ability to automate, where possible, the deployment of network configurations and/or network software components in a verifiable way.
6. The ability to support and maintain work packages throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.
7. Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching appliances.
8. Experience in impact assessments.
9. Experience of working on secure infrastructure solutions.
10. Previous experience with Juniper SRX or Fortinet FortiGate is advantageous.
11. Previous experience with Cisco ASA and McAfee MFE appliances is advantageous.
