An Operations and Planning Manager is required to join a market leading Innovative Technology Company that operates within the High engineering Sector. The Operations and Planning Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will be expected to meet the operational performance standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity and Cost. The Operations and Planning Manager will also develop Sales, Inventory, Operational Processes, Planning, and continuously improve methods. Operations and Planning Manager - Key Responsibilities - Develops the Sales and Operations plans for assigned product families and NPI components - Works with Sales to establish demand and Operations to meet customer needs - Identification of the \plan for every part\ strategy - Optimisation of inventory level requirements - Ensure resources are aligned to future customer requirements - Develop and implement procedural enhancements and improvements - Work closely with the finance department on operational issues - Lead operational improvement, including cost down initiatives - Produce an accurate and articulate operational monthly report - Training, development and appraisals of your team - Support the New Product Introduction NPI process via the allocation of resource - Lead and Support in personnel training and development - Ensure tooling, equipment and plant expenditure achieves expected levels Technical Skills and Experience Required for the Operations and Planning Manager - Engineering or Management degree/qualification or equivalent relevant Experience - Experienced in managing organisational change - The ability to motivate and facilitate organisational learning - Demonstrable experience of process improvement. - Comprehends capacity planning and single point failure - Capable of leading basic and structured Problem solving - Maintains composure when faced with pressure or unexpected challenges - Eliminates road blocks and creates focus and can negotiate skilfully in tough situations - Understands Quality systems with a detailed understanding of lean methodologies - Extensive operational management experience - Engineering or Management degree/qualification - Experience of the automotive and aerospace industry would be advantageous - Proficient in MS Office products Excel, PowerPoint, Word - Expert with ERP/MRP/software systems would be advantageous - Experience of ERP implementation considered a significant advantage - CIPS and or APICS certification would be a plus but is not essential Security Clearance may be required for this role
