Cambridgeshire is a great place to work and live, with a diverse population, an urban centre in Cambridge, the historic Isle of Ely, Huntingdon and St Ives as well as more rural landscapes. Though large areas of the county are pretty low-lying, you’ll find the atmosphere at the Council anything but flat.
Our vision is to create a greener, fairer and more caring Cambridgeshire, and we’re already making significant progress towards this objective. If you’re ready to bring your professional experience and skills to a well-managed and high-performing organisation, with a strong and ambitious culture of continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
Elected members across the Council have made a public commitment to setting a benchmark in social care, so you’ll be joining an organisation which wants to succeed just as much as you do. Our scale and reach mean that we have genuine system-shaping potential, and we’re looking for someone who can realise the significant impact we believe is possible.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide inspirational strategic leadership to a strong, quality-assured operating model.
2. Deliver and commission high-quality universal and specialist services within localities.
3. Ensure access to personalised, flexible, integrated care and support for individuals with social care needs.
4. Promote independence, quality of life, dignity, and choice, underpinned by a commitment to safeguarding.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Experienced and respected leader in adult services.
2. Highly knowledgeable across the full range of senior accountabilities in the field.
3. Strong team management skills and a proven track record of enabling a dedicated and skilled workforce.
4. Ability to build partnerships and influence systems within a whole system approach.
5. Motivated by working within a positive self-improving culture.
