Main Duties
Oversee NUPAS resource and capacity to ensure an accessible, patient-focused service at all times. In conjunction with the regional managers and regional clinical leads, regularly review staffing needs and skill mix requirements to deliver excellent care. Oversee and act as line manager for all NUPAS Regional Managers. Continuously analyze data to identify operational, reporting, and quality issues.
Oversee NUPAS Counselling service. Effectively contribute to the strategic direction and operational success of NUPAS by being a member of the Senior Leadership Team focusing on strategic planning, decision-making, resource allocation, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Support the organization to achieve ISO9001 certification. Work with the Regional Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic development of the organization by identifying and implementing improvements for patients, employees, and other stakeholders.
Be a key player in the identification of new opportunities that will increase the profile of NUPAS as one of the leading abortion providers. Work with the Regional Leadership Team, building on existing and new relationships with key stakeholders such as GPs and other Healthcare organizations. Support the Regional Leadership Team in delivering a safe and quality-driven service to all patients in accordance with the requirements of the Abortion Act, Care Quality Commission Regulatory Standards, and other relevant legislation.
Lead the Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response Working Group in line with NUPAS Business Continuity plan.
Business and Financial Management
Promote contractual cost-effectiveness by ensuring that all services operate efficiently and safely. Work collaboratively to identify realistic and achievable plans within all services. Adhere to all company HR policies and procedures and ensure compliance with employment legislation at all times. Develop an environment where all staff seek to make service improvements and deliver against agreed patient activity and financial targets.
Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure policies, procedures, and processes provide assurance to the board ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance. Ensure predictive operational management is in place to manage opportunities and problems in service delivery. Assist in identifying potential new premises for service delivery and support submission of applications for the licensing of new clinical units.
Develop and monitor achievement of local and strategic targets and implement remedial action as necessary.
Professional Development
Keep up to date with best practice and developments in abortion and family planning services. Attend training relevant to the role and actively review all work-related activities to identify areas for improvement.
General
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the post. Work in harmony with all other team members and communicate openly and transparently.
Support and respect a woman's right to request an abortion within the UK legal framework. Maintain and improve standards of work through training and keeping up-to-date with technical information. Foster connections between regions to enhance lateral working and care pathway approaches. Adhere to the Information Governance requirements of NUPAS, treating all information as confidential and abiding by the Data Protection Act.
Take responsibility to safeguard young people and protect vulnerable adults. Demonstrate commitment to effective teamwork across NUPAS activities, maintaining effective liaison with internal and external key people and organizations. Ensure adherence to relevant Department of Health and Social Care guidelines and compliance with the Care Quality Commission national minimum healthcare standards.
