Providing engineering support on all electrical/electronic technical matters pertaining to the company’s business, including New Product Development and Current Model Production.
Responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer:
Designing, implementing, maintaining and improving electrical products and systems.
To amend designs/technical specifications/Bills of Materials (BOM)/documentation as directed through the Engineering Change Note (ECN) process
Using engineering software and equipment for computer-aided design and other complex technical tasks including Zuken E3 and Solid Works.
Overseeing maintenance, inspection and system upgrade programs.
Documenting projects and records of work completed including issue and inspections.
Supervising and training electrical assemblers, during product implementation.
Commissioning of new systems entering production.
Performing feasibility studies for new projects and technical developments.
Manufacturing support during production implementation and as required for any Production/Warranty faults.
Writing reports, giving presentations and meeting with engineers and leadership team.
Assembling electrical and electronic systems and prototypes.
Inspecting designs for quality control, reporting findings and providing recommendations.
Creating SoP’s for electrical and electronic manufacture and construction.
Test electrical components to ensure proper functionality.
To support the Engineering Managers in answering technical enquires from the Sales and Marketing teams, for non-standard special requests
What are we looking for in an Electrical Design Engineer?
Strong experience with Electrical Schematic Software, ideally Zuken E3.
Experienced with Harness Design
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, technical documents and diagrams.
Understanding of PLCs and control systems
Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Electronics engineering
