We are looking for a Fundraising and Communications Assistant who can provide excellent customer service and administrative support as part of our busy and creative Fundraising and Communications team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in working within the charity sector – particularly fundraising.
About the role
You will support a variety of Fundraising and Communications activities, most important of all providing excellent supporter care to everyone who supports the charity whether through a regular donation, a fundraising event or making a gift in memory of a loved one.
The success of our fundraising relies on accurate supporter data, so you will be integral in ensuring our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is up to date. You will have great attention to detail and be comfortable working with a database, carrying out data entry tasks as well as regular imports and exports. You will also maintain lists of potential supporters and assist the team with approaches where appropriate.
In particular, you will:
Be the first point of contact for all fundraising and communications enquiries.Maintain accurate and up to date supporter records on the CRM via manual data entry and using data imports and exports.Write and update administration process documents ensuring that all team members have shared knowledge of our processes and procedures.Prepare reports and analysis of data as required, assisting colleagues to research, develop insights and gain a better understanding of the performance of fundraising activities.Oversee Gift Aid record management and supporter communications to maximise effective giving and work with the Finance team to generate Gift Aid claims.Research and update contact information of local community groups and make approaches to build relationships where appropriate.Assist the Marketing and Communications Officer with scheduling of social media posts using scheduling software.Work with the Corporate & Community Fundraising Officer and Individual Giving Officer to develop stewardship plans for different types of fundraisers and donors to maximise their fundraisingManage and grow income from the charity’s on-site shop, ensuring regular promotion of the goods available and ensure that stock and sales are recorded accurately.
About you
You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, happy to help with various enquiries with a positive approach. You will be comfortable managing enquiries through different communications channels.
