Job Purpose
An unlicensed Aircraft Engineer is required to perform aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with Technical Documentation & Company Procedures. This role is mainly for line maintenance support but has the possibility of supporting the bay environment also.
The scope of work includes scheduled, unscheduled, and out of phase maintenance on the A400M aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out aircraft maintenance tasks as directed by the Line Manager and assist other staff (any trade) to ensure safe and effective working practices.
2. Ensure you are booked to task as appropriate.
3. Carry out movement of heavy equipment, tooling, and spares around the site.
4. Assist with aircraft cleaning.
5. Maintain a clean working environment around the aircraft and facilities.
6. Carry out servicing of aircraft toilets on aircraft in maintenance.
7. Contain any fuel and/or oil spillage.
8. Assist with aircraft maneuvering requirements.
9. Ensure all waste products are separated and recycled as necessary.
10. Address and report any safety concerns immediately.
11. Ensure that equipment is maintained in a serviceable, clean, tidy, and safe condition, reporting any faulty equipment immediately using the correct channels.
12. Carry out additional team responsibilities or any other reasonable request from your Line Manager.
13. Carry out any reasonable request to provide offsite support e.g. AOG, Line.
14. Remain up to date with all Read & Sign notices.
Health and Safety
1. Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities.
2. Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work, including Management responsibilities as required by the H&S Manual.
3. Be aware of aviation safety responsibilities with regards to the AMUK Safety Policy, including Management responsibilities as required by the Safety Management Manual.
4. Be aware of aviation security responsibilities with regards to the Airbus Security Policy.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
1. Full UK driving licence required.
2. More than 2 years aircraft experience (or in a comparable industry) or recognized aircraft apprenticeship with a minimum of one year's aircraft experience plus a minimum of 12 months service.
3. Has had Competency Assessment completed and is at a satisfactory level.
4. Ability to work effectively in a team.
5. Ability to work unsupervised when required to do so.
6. Good awareness of Aviation safety.
7. Good communication skills.
8. Able to operate a powerset (GPU).
9. Must be able to gain Security Clearance and have a full UK passport.
