Our client is a leading pathology organisation, they are well-situated within a modern laboratory in central London. They are looking for a Clinical Scientist to join their Cytogenetics team and support with karyotyping.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team. They should have strong communication skills and be able to document the work they have performed clearly.
Requirements:
* Cytogenetics background
* Good working knowledge of the majority of analytical methodologies (karyotyping, arrays, FISH, PCR, WGS)".
* Other duties to include some of the following:
· Tissue Culture
· Fluorescent In-Situ Hybridisation
· Karyotyping
· PCR
· DNA Sequencing
· Fluorescent Fragment Analysis
· array CGH
· DNA/RNA Extraction
· NGS variant analysis and interpretation
· Bioinformatics
* Essential
o Good first degree in Genetics or Biological Science with a genetics component
o Post graduate professional qualification (Certificate of Competence in Clinical Cytogenetics/STP) or equivalent experience
o Registration - Clinical Scientist (Clinical Cytogenetics or Genetics)
* Desirable
o FRCPath part 1
o PhD /DPhil in a relevant subject are
