We now have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer, competent to join our busy team in Ramsbottom! You’ll work closely with other members of the team including team managers, engineering specialists, planners, and stores controllers to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive engineering activities.
What's the mission?
Working as part of our Engineering team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.
You’ll ensure Health & Safety regulations are adhered to, company policies are followed, and departmental and site KPIs are met. You will work closely with key team members to promote and use continuous improvement strategies to support the site and department run even better!
Working 42 hours per week, the shift pattern is 4 on 4 off covering both days and nights.
What are the mission-critical skills?
* Time served or apprentice trained Mechanical Engineer
* Experience and effective working knowledge in mechanical systems is essential
* Ability to interrogate and understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations
* Knowledge of Hydraulic, Pneumatics
* Basic electrical knowledge with PLCs would be a bonus!
* Excellent communication skills and experience in interacting with team members from Production and Engineering
* A good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
