The successful candidate will join a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary Small Animal Hospital located on a picturesque estate. The hospital is staffed by specialists in surgery, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, and ophthalmology. On-site facilities include advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, such as a 1.5T MRI, CT scanner, linear accelerator, digital radiography, and four fully equipped surgical theatres. The hospital’s collaborative ‘One Hospital’ ethos fosters outstanding clinical care and supports the development of all team members.
The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinician in Small Animal Surgery with an interest in general surgery and either a strong orthopaedic or soft tissue bias. This is a specialist-level position, where you will be delivering a high-quality surgical referral service, with a strong focus on collaboration, teaching, and professional development.
Hours: This is a full-time role, working a 35-hour working week.
Candidate: Applicants should hold a postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Surgery (ECVS, ACVS, or RCVS), although experienced candidates with Advanced Practitioner status or those eligible to sit the Diploma examination are also encouraged to apply. The role involves delivering a high-quality surgical referral service, contributing to clinical training for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and engaging in clinical research and scholarship. A significant proportion of ‘off-clinic’ time will be allocated to support these endeavors.
Requirements:
1. RCVS registrable veterinary degree.
2. Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Surgery (ECVS, ACVS, or RCVS).
3. Candidates with Advanced Practitioner status or those eligible for Diploma exams will also be considered.
4. Research experience and a PhD are desirable but not essential.
