Role
Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is a vibrant community charity making a big impact on families in both local areas. Our trained volunteers and staff help families with young children through challenging times. In Scotland, over 1500 volunteers support over 3500 families and nearly 6500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents when they need us most.
The parents we support are often overwhelmed and isolated. They may be struggling with mental health, illness, disability, multiple birth, poverty, domestic abuse, separation or trauma. We provide 1:1, face to face and remote support, and group and intensive support, to families.
HSGNNL are now looking for a dynamic, outgoing individual who can deliver a programme of volunteer opportunities across North Glasgow.
Purposes of the job
* Ensure a creative, inspiring and effective volunteer recruitment process
* Maintain training & development programmes that prepare volunteers for their role and meet the needs of the organisation
* Ensure all volunteers are supported and can contribute to service design
* Identify opportunities to maintain the number of volunteers that allow us to deliver our work effectively and meet the needs of family support
* Maintain and provide content for social media platforms
A valid UK driving licence and access to a car is an essential requirement for the role.
HSGNNL welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We are committed to Equality of Opportunity and Diversity, and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults. As a charity we adhere to safer recruitment practice. This post is subject to PVG checks.
The role is initially funded for one year with the possibility of extended funding.
