Real Estate Finance is a specialist team with primary responsibility for relationships involving Commercial and Residential Real Estate investors, operators and developers. The adopted strategy of ‘by Professionals, to Professionals’ results in our customer portfolios being comprised of professional operators and market leaders in their sectors.
Real Estate is a key market for the UK economy and a material contributor to UK Commercial Banking, it brings together the fundamental skills of relationship management, large corporate lending, risk management and partner engagement, with the added complexity of a highly political and cyclical property industry.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join the Social Housing Team, in the role of Associate Director. The role will support HSBC’s growth ambitions within the Social Housing Sector.
The role holder will assist Relationship Directors (RD’s) in building relationships by identifying and meeting existing and prospective customer needs, enabling the RD to optimise the potential value of the client relationship. The Associate Director (AD) is expected to support the RD to improve client engagement, identify product/service opportunities and deliver needs-based solutions and fair outcomes for customers. The AD is expected to carry out customer research, financial and credit analysis and help the RD prepare for customer meetings, as well as co-ordinate credit applications, or renewals, and risk escalation management. In the absence of the RD, the Associate Director will act as the focal point for the relationship and credit related enquiries.
In this role, you will:
* Support customers and place their needs at the forefront of all that we do, setting world class standards and ensuring demonstrating fair customer treatment and delivery of customer satisfaction.
* Manage regulatory and reputational risk, ensure business adherence throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk.
* Attend and potentially lead client meetings as required.
* Preparation of all relevant: credit and profitability analysis, accounts remarks, pre and post customer documentation, collation/analysis of financial/non-financial information and coordination of products/solutions, which suit customer needs.
* Monitor credit risk including concern lists and credit control reports, analysing management information (MI)
* Enhance and develop mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
* Have a good understanding of the marketplace and the competition, to identify opportunities to establish competitive advantage for HSBC.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Prior experience in the Social Housing Sector is essential.
* Good verbal and written communication skills is a prerequisite.
* Ability to prioritise and manage business tasks is essential, with planning and organisational skills to manage the unexpected as well as anticipated issues or events, with or without support.
* Ability to gather, analyse, and interpret comprehensive information and/or customer requirements.
* Good influencing skills and ability to builds positive working relationships with our customers, colleagues, and stakeholders is essential.
* Experience of working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Corporate Banking/Business Banking, Financial Services is essential.
* Able to identify and meet, challenging customer needs with proven experience of leading delivery of an excellent customer service is essential.
* Comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes is advantageous.
This is a hybrid position. We would welcome applications from candidates seeking a role based in either London, Manchester, or Birmingham. There is a requirement to be office based 3 days a week and you will be required to visit clients, either with the Relationship Directors, or unaccompanied. These visits can be nationwide on occasion, so it is important that the successful candidate can travel on a regular basis.
