Job Overview
The Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Hull and East Riding Early Intervention in Psychosis (PSYPHER) Team, who work with people aged between 14 and 65, experiencing their first episode of psychosis or at risk of developing psychosis.
The Hull and East Riding Team works according to the New Ways of Working Model, with the Consultant providing consultation to care coordinators. The team has a full complement of Care Co-ordinators, Social Workers, and Clinical Support Nurses. The team has an active in-house training programme and is increasingly family-oriented in its overall approach to complement individual support, relapse prevention, and other therapies. Most of the service delivery takes place in the person’s home or within designated bases. The service is actively involved in a number of research projects and works closely with the Trust’s Research Department and the University of Hull.
Main Duties of the Job
The team accepts approximately 120 referrals per year from Hull and currently carries a caseload for the Hull areas of approximately 150. For the East Riding, the approximate number of referrals per year is 60 and carries a caseload of around 70.
Together with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team, you will offer medical leadership, assessment, and management of patients on the community caseload and contribute to the on-call rota for the wider General Adult Service.
