Job Title: Electrical Helper
SUMMARY: This position assists electricians in installing and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment by performing various duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Gather tools and supplies needed at the work site.
2. Assist in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
3. Maintain tools and equipment; keep supplies and parts organized.
4. Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
5. Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.
6. Perform other routine duties as assigned.
7. Follow all company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
4. Ability to follow verbal instructions.
5. Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Employees must regularly stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance. Vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to outside weather, high places, and potential electrical shock. Noise levels are usually loud.
TOOL REQUIREMENTS: Employees have 30 days from hire to acquire essential tools, including pliers, screwdrivers, levels, hammers, knives, wrenches, and a volt meter. Steel toe boots are also required.
