About the role…
We are expanding our team and looking to take on a Backfill/Reinstatement Operative to join us, working on the Wastewater Service Contract. This is an exciting time to join an established team as we look to continue to build upon the success we have had in delivering this workstream for over 10 years.
Reporting into the Site Supervisor, you will carry out instructions to deliver civils work to the agreed quality on the Yorkshire Water Sewer Network, within timescales specified and adhering to the company’s safety requirements.
This role will be based out of our Brighouse Depot and the suitable candidate will be local to the area. We appreciate not everyone will have the qualifications/training needed for this role and are happy to employ someone with the right attitude and support them through any training and qualifications needed to perform the position. There is also the opportunity to progress into a Team Leader role.
The salary for the role is calculated annually and will be the equivalent to £12 - £14.37 per hour depending on experience.
What will your day look like…
* To carry out backfill and reinstatement works in the highway, on private property and premises or as instructed by the Backfill/Reinstatement Division.
* To deliver, set up and collect signs and barriers within a given geographical area to and from various sites.
* To collect and deliver plant, equipment and material within a given geographical area to and from various sites.
* To work within an operational team as and when required and instructed to do so.
* Undertaking possession management and site management duties as instructed.
* Arranging for all scrap materials to be removed from site in a safe manner at the end of each job.
* Ensuring materials are used economically and that unused materials are returned to stores.
* Undertaking all duties as skilled, in a reliable, flexible constructive manner.
* Wearing and maintaining in good condition any Personal Protective Equipment provided for your protection, and bringing to your supervisor’s attention any defects or shortcomings with the equipment.
* Ensuring your own safety and the safety of others affected by your acts and omissions.
About you…
* HSEA qualifications or equivalent.
* Willing and prepared to travel so a full driving license is essential.
* An understanding and commitment to health, safety, quality, and environmental aspects.
* A responsible, proactive, and flexible attitude.
* A commitment to actively participate in team responsibilities and provide positive input.
* Willing to undertake competency and continuation training as determined by the Company. Preferably, able to work in confined spaces with previous civils background.
