Are you passionate about positively influencing the environmental performance of marine development projects? Join our team as a Senior Marine Consultant and you will have the opportunity to work on our range of marine projects in sectors such as offshore wind, subsea cables, ports and harbours, and a variety of coastal developments. By joining us you will work daily with technical experts, including our in-house marine ecology and physical processes teams. You will be based within our established Environmental Impact (EIA) team which comprises over 165 staff across the UK and Ireland.
As we are a national team, we are flexible in terms of office location. Ideally, you would be based in one of our offices across the UK including Basingstoke, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Croydon, Dublin, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Plymouth, St Albans and Warrington, as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
In this role you will support and input to our growing portfolio of high-profile marine projects.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Provide Expertise: Support the management of environmental inputs across a diverse range of marine projects, including the production of EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments, and supporting assessments and documents.
* Ensure Quality: Maintain high quality standards and compliance with our rigorous quality management procedures.
* Project Management: Use project management skills to support the management of resources and budgets.
* Collaborate: Work as part of an integrated team to improve the environmental outcomes of our projects.
* Client Contact: Support senior staff with the management of client relationships, internal teams and subcontractors.
* Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services and lead business development opportunities.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree).
* Ideally a member of an appropriate professional membership, either with Chartered status, or working towards Chartership.
* Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience, with proven skills in managing the preparation of environmental reports.
* A suitable understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes around the UK.
* The ability to support collaborative teams, coordinating inputs from technical specialists.
* Project management skills, and the willingness to develop these skills.
* A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
* Interest in supporting / mentoring junior team members.
* Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing.
* A willingness to travel.
