Bennett and Game Recruitment currently have the pleasure of representing a well-established Town Planning Consultancy based in York, who are seeking an ambitious Assistant Town Planner to join the team. Our client offer a wide selection of planning services and advice on a mixture of projects within the residential, strategic land, energy and environmental project across England and Wales.
With 2 offices based throughout the UK, our client has developed a healthy pipeline and a strong cliental. Their steady workload, not only stems from repeat business of private clients but also from a sister company. As an Assistant Town Planner you will be a vital part of the wider team, working closely alongside senior members of staff on projects from beginning through to conclusion. You will be liaising directly with clients including, building new client relationships and managing existing relationships with client meetings and site visits.

Assistant Town Planner Position Remuneration
1. Competitive salary ranging from £28,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)

Assistant Town Planner Position Overview
8. Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries
9. Attending regular community engagement, committee meetings and public examinations
10. Conducting research and feeding into planning appraisals to establish the development of potential of sites
11. Researching planning policies to guide developments
12. Writing high quality reports with recommendations
13. Communicating with all stakeholders involved in the planning process
14. Attending site visits and client meetings
Assistant Town Planner Position Requirements
15. Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), is preferred
16. Minimum of 2+ years post qualification experience
17. An RTPI accredited degree
18. A full driving licence
19. Strong report writing skills and experience of delivering recommendations on a range of major planning applications
20. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
