Job summary We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our new Complex Trauma Pathway for Children and Young People (CYP) in BSW (Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire). This innovative pathway is a joint initiative funded by the ICB, developed to meet the needs of CYP who have experienced significant trauma by providing timely, high-quality consultation and support. About the Role This 30 hour position will be based within Swindon CAMHS, working as part of a dedicated, trauma-informed team. You will play a key role in supporting the psychological care of young people within the service by assisting in clinical assessments, supporting psychological interventions under supervision, and supporting audit and data collection to enhance service delivery. The role will allow you to contribute to shaping a pathway that embeds positive partnerships with key adults and networks, improving outcomes for young people who have experienced complex trauma Main duties of the job What We Are Looking For We welcome applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background in psychology, relevant experience, and a passion for working with young people who have experienced trauma. Essential criteria include: A 2:1 or above in a Psychology degree (or equivalent) and eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS). Experience working with people who have mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, or additional complex needs. Strong skills in data collection, audit, and research. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting. Ability to work independently under supervision and manage competing demands effectively. A keen interest in developing trauma-informed approaches and contributing to service development. Desirable criteria: Previous experience working in a CAMHS setting or within a trauma-informed service. Experience using psychological measures and research tools (e.g., SPSS, qualitative analysis software). Understanding of multi-agency working in the context of child and adolescent mental health.
