Central is currently recruiting for a Specialist Housing Officer, to work Pan London. The service provides support to people to help them maintain their tenancy.
The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Cover is required for approximately 3 months. The pay rate is £21.10 per hour, with £3.07 holiday pay, totalling £24.17 per hour.
Please note; this role involves supporting clients in the community, working from the office in Islington and 1 day per week working from home (to complete admin tasks).
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a high-quality housing management service to tenants and licensees.
2. Act as the Associations ambassador, building positive relationships with customers, licensees and their care and support providers.
3. Respond and complete enquiries from customers, licensees, and other agencies within target timescales.
4. Ensure that viewing and sign up processes operate efficiently and in line with procedures.
5. Carry out 4 weekly new tenant welcome visits to assess any needs and review at least annually.
6. Work with other Housing Officers to take responsibility for a 'patch' of approximately 260.
7. Work closely with other departments to ensure the delivery of high quality services.
8. Build strong links with customers, licensees, care and support teams and the communities within own patch.
9. Work in partnership with internal and external support providers.
10. Be easily accessible to customers and licensees, including the use of regular surgeries.
11. Ensure that Properties, Schemes and Estates are maintained to a high-quality standard.
12. Oversee the management of gardening and cleaning services within own patch.
13. Support customers in repairs reporting and outlining customer and landlord repairs responsibilities.
14. Work with Asset Management and Care and Support colleagues to implement void management procedures.
15. Ensure that Health and Safety Standards are being fully met.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience of working in a housing management service including Estate services and maintenance.
2. Knowledge of Housing and related legislation and good practice.
3. Experience of monitoring performance of external contractors and service providers.
4. Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of statutory organisations.
5. Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
6. Ability to assess information and situations quickly.
7. Ability to interpret/evaluate straightforward numerical and statistical data.
8. Experience of working with IT systems to monitor performance.

Further Requirements:
1. Current valid right to work in the UK.
2. Minimum 12 months' of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years.
3. A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one.
4. Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process.
