About The Role
We are seeking an AssistantEstimator to join our expanding Pre-construction Team.
As an Assistant Estimator you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Lead Estimator in calculating the cost of labour/materials/subcontracts that are required for a construction project.
We are a leading supplier of infrastructure maintenance, repair and renewals solutions in the Aviation, Rail and Civil engineering sector, working for Client owners and operators of secure and safety critical infrastructure including Network Rail, National Grid, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, MoD, and Associated British Ports.
This role is currently offered with an agile working solution
Role and responsibilities:
You will be working on the production of high-quality tender prices within the engineering, construction, and infrastructure markets.
Assist Lead Estimator
Identify labour, materials and subcontractor requirements as required on a project-by-project basis
Accurately measure from drawings and understand the implications of a specification.
Send out for/receive/adjudicate supplier/subcontractor quotes
Input the above onto tender settlement document and into estimating software
Work with other members of the bid team in the production of bids
Liaise with line manager to review detail received and agree approach for estimating
Take responsibility for price submissions’ ensuring that these comply with the submissions and Company guidelines
About you:
Due to the complexity of projects that we work on, we are keen to receive applications from candidates who are familiar with working in a Civil or Electrical Engineering environment and have a technical understanding of engineering processes and are keen to begin a career as an Estimator.
