Morgan Hunt are working with a fantastic college in the North London area, together, we are seeking to appoint a talented, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to join them on a temporary-ongoing basis.
Job Title: Nursery Manager
Location: North London
Hours: Full time (5 days a week)
Start: ASAP
Length of contract: Temporary
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out the duties of a Nursery Manager
2. Recruiting employees and providing ongoing training in best care practices
3. Developing and maintaining the nursery budget
4. Arranging marketing materials
5. Monitoring the condition of the facility and equipment and organising maintenance, repairs and new items as required
6. Updating parents and Carers about their child's progress and behaviour
7. Answering enquiries about enrolment, payments and practices
8. Developing and implementing an age-appropriate program of annual events and activities
9. Preparing the nursery for Ofsted inspections and following inspector recommendations
Knowledge and Understanding:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the Every Child Matters Aims and Outcomes
2. Knowledge of the EYFS Standards and the Children Act 2004 and the Childcare Act 2006 and Ofsted inspection framework
3. Knowledge of Health and Safety issues and legislation
4. Knowledge of Safeguarding Children /Child Protection issues and procedures and the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead
5. Knowledge and commitment to Equal Opportunities in accordance to the Colleges Equal Opportunities Policy
6. An understanding of the principles of Equal Opportunities and Inclusion with a commitment to implementing them in all aspects of the setting
7. Knowledge of child development for children 0-5 years and an understanding of children's needs and behaviour
8. Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Curriculum and implementation
Essential to apply:
1. A relevant level 3 childcare qualification or higher in Early Years Care and Education
2. Nursery management /supervision including staff management experience including organising staff workloads and the allocation of nursery places maintaining occupancy levels
3. Significant experience of working in an Early Years Care and Education Setting
4. Experience in role as Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator, referring children to appropriate professionals and meetings there needs within the nursery provision
5. Experience in working effectively in partnership with parents /carers
6. Experience of undertaking staff appraisals and identifying and meeting staff training needs
7. Experience of working in a multi-agency and multi-disciplinary environment
8. Experience of record keeping and maintaining confidentiality
