Are you ready to take a leading role in managing critical assets that help power the nation?
You'll become a recognised equipment expert within National Grid for HVDC equipment. Be involved in the development & delivery of HVDC interconnector projects to enable national Net Zero targets. Engage with both internal & external stakeholders on the development of the technical HVDC interconnectors.
We're looking for an experienced Asset Lifecycle Engineer to lead the asset management of HVDC and associated equipment. In this pivotal role, you'll provide expert technical guidance throughout the entire asset lifecycle, developing essential policies, procedures, and standards that will shape the future of energy transmission. You’ll assess cutting-edge equipment for the National Grid Transmission System, ensuring it meets the highest standards of safety and performance.
The Asset Lifecycle Engineer role also offers exciting opportunities to travel both domestically and internationally, witnessing equipment testing first hand. You’ll engage with external stakeholders, contribute to regulatory and industry discussions, and represent National Grid on national and international committees, influencing key policies and standards. Additionally, you’ll play a vital role in mentoring and supporting team members, helping to build a strong, collaborative team. Must have
1. Proven experience of specification, design, development, maintenance and/or lifetime management of HVDC Converter stations and their associated equipment.
2. A Numerate degree or demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering project environment.
3. Proven knowledge and understanding of the principles of Asset Management.
4. Membership or the ability to be a member of relevant professional body.
Desirable
Institute of Asset Management “Principles of Asset Management” certificate.

* A starting salary up to £65,000 pa + £3,000 pa Market Supplement + Benefits package.

* 37 hours Mon - Fri.
* 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
