Applications are invited for the role of Lead Radiographer for peripheral sites at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated diagnostic Radiographer with excellent communication, management & leadership skills to provide the professional leadership for the three peripheral sites (Wharfedale, Chapel Allerton and Seacroft CDC). They will be a compassionate leader responsible for delivering an efficient, safe, effective and high-quality radiographic imaging service. The Lead Radiographer will line manage Team Managers, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and assistants. They will be line managed by the Head of Profession. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the professional leadership & management of all Peripheral Staff. The post holder is the named and identified lead and point of contact for advice & expertise. Responsible for the care and professional practice delivered with a Radiographic workforce of over 60 WTE.
The post holder will be a state registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) & will work within codes of practice and professional guidelines. As a professional clinical manager & a member of the radiology management team, they will be responsible for leading, developing & managing all resources (human, physical & financial) for an imaging modality or service area within Radiology across multiple sites in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT).
The post holder has accountability for delivering a safe, effective, efficient & quality service appropriate for all users in accordance with the Trust's strategic plans & operational policies. They are accountable for delivering service-related targets, implementing legislation & national frameworks.
Post holders at this level are expected to have significant knowledge of the specific modality including technical & operational issues. They will provide specialist advice & be consulted on a wide range of issues which arise in their modality. They will ensure the highest standards of technical, clinical & operational practice.

Job responsibilities
The Radiology Service delivers a diagnostic and treatment service for approximately 600,000 patients a year. The Service comprises several imaging modalities, each with up to 100 staff, providing a high quality clinical radiology service for patients. The service includes the Leeds and Wakefield breast screening programme which screens 180,000 women per round length.
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust provides tertiary and secondary care and covers a wide geographical area. Radiology Services are provided on several sites across Leeds and the post holder will be required to travel to sites across the trust.

They will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff and patients in their modality and will work to the Trust policies in place on all aspects of staff management.
They will be easily identifiable to patients, provide strong leadership through a visible presence and provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers.
They will work closely with medical and senior management staff from within the radiology CSU and externally within the trust and WYATT.

Qualifications
Essential
* BSc or equivalent in diagnostic radiography.
* Current state (HCPC) registration.
* Professional post-graduate qualifications to M level or equivalent.
Desirable
* Strong evidence of leading service development.
* Recognised management qualification.

* Extensive management experience at a senior level.
* Proven success in delivering financial and service targets.
* Proven leadership and advanced communication skills.

* Involvement in undergraduate and/or post graduate education.
