Our client, a leading food manufacturer, are currently seeking a talented Multi Skilled Engineer to join their growing team.

The Role
As a key member of the Engineering Team, your primary accountability is to provide safe and highly reliable equipment to manufacturing colleagues, achieved through a healthy balance of hands-on maintenance competence, equipment knowledge, analysis of equipment performance and strong communication skill. Specifically, you will:
* Execute hands-on planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, always ensuring safe working.
* Ensure assets are ready to produce products that are of an excellent quality, despatched on time in full to the satisfaction of our customers
* Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake properly risk assessed
* Coach, train and give understanding to production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance
* Act with integrity at all times to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement skills
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
* Hands-On Engineering Experience, preferably through recognised time-served apprenticeship within food manufacturing
o Technical qualifications and competence in mechanical/electrical at a minimum NVQ Level 3
o BTEC Engineering certificate/equivalent qualification
o Broad Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets
o Skills and capability to logically diagnose and fault find on a variety of equipment/situations
* Strong experience in ensuring safe working and safe systems of work are utilised and followed
o
+ Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices
+ Experience of working on high hazard equipment & competent in undertaking safe isolation
* Strong evidence of good interpersonal, communications and customer engagement skills
o
+ Specific experience of clarifying priorities to customers in a busy environment
+ Proven ability to get the best from a diverse team through a calm and clear approach
+ Ability to engage positively with production to ensure equipment release for maintenance
* Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques particularly root cause
Knowledge and Experience
* ?18th Edition or equivalent Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* A clear and strong idea of how to drive continuous improvement across the factory.
* Must be proactive to complete scheduled work plans, start-up checks etc. in a timely manner.
* Ability to challenge others in a professional and constructive manner.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Organisation skills with a clean as you go approach.
* Safety first awareness.
* Resilient and effective execution.
* Working with colleagues to do what's best for the company.

Hours: 5.30am 2pm and 7.30pm to close (They roughly work 8-hour shifts)
Over time available on Saturday mornings time and half
