Senior Product Manager - Integrated Systems
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Edwards semiconductor business at a time of rapid growth in manufacturing, and to join an established global product management team. Having gained a clear leadership position in supplying vacuum and abatement solutions, Edwards is looking for someone who can help meet the challenge to ensure we fully capitalize on our success and retain our market leadership position for the next 10 years.
The Semiconductor Division is part of the Vacuum Technique Business Area (VTBA) of the Atlas Copco Group, and this global role will ideally be based at our VTBA head office in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, although may also be based in Seoul, South Korea, and will involve international travel and working with Edwards teams in multiple global locations.
The Mission
The role mission is to manage the “Product” and “Price” elements of the marketing mix for the assigned product range, be the guiding mind for the product portfolio and “voice of the customer” within the global semiconductor organisation, and to deliver measurable business results through product solutions that meet both market needs and company objectives. It is critical to be the portfolio champion, ensuring management of the product plans and life cycles to enhance our international brand, and meet Edwards business objectives in line with our strategy. With primary accountability (with others) for delivering product business case returns and unadjusted gross profit, you will ensure that Edwards road maps are well aligned with customer needs and that our product ambitions will delight.
Key responsibilities
1. Engage with key customers directly and through the market in process to ensure that all products in the portfolio meet customer needs and enhance our brand & reputation.
2. Initiate and lead the development of comprehensive product plans & pricing strategies that will protect and grow our market share while delivering business case returns at the agreed level of profitability.
3. Optimise NPI efficiency and effectiveness through roadmaps which are well aligned with market inputs, minimise segment gaps, and are aligned with engineering to be achieved in the minimum number of project steps.
4. Develop and maintain effective processes for the regular monitoring and countering of competitor strategies.
5. Ensure Unique Reasons to Buy and clear value propositions are established and effectively used by Customer Centres; initiate related communication activities, particularly in thought leadership, sales collateral, and training.
6. Collaborate and negotiate with management teams of multiple Product Companies in several countries to ensure they are consistently meeting customer requirements, particularly in product support and quality.
7. Ensure that company systems and the management of product data enable business success.
Key requirements
We are looking for motivated individual to join our Semiconductor Product Management team, ideally you will have:
8. Bachelor’s degree in physical or chemical sciences
9. Membership of an appropriate professional institution
10. Professional development in business management and marketing
11. Demonstrated recurring successful experience ideally including in marketing roles such as Product Management and Marketing Management; Other experience could be in Project Management, Contract Management, Sales Management, Technical Support.
12. Experience of the products, applications and markets relevant to Edwards semiconductor business is highly desirable; candidates with experience of similar complexity products and technologies in other global B2B equipment markets may be considered.
13. Demonstrated ability to work confidently and effectively with board members and negotiate effective outcomes with BLMs and General Managers across the business using excellent influencing skills.
14. Able to demonstrate good organisational and personal management skills.
15. Able to influence, engage and build strong working relationships with people across the business.
16. Familiarity with engineering organisation practices, disciplines, systems and software tools an advantage.
17. Fluent spoken and written English essential; skills in other languages used in major Edwards markets is an advantage.
18. Considerable international travel is required to fulfil this role.
