Associate Lecturer in Fashion
The Department of Art & Music is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, well-organised and ambitious applicant to the role of Associate Lecturer in Fashion to teach on the Fashion Styling & Creative Direction and Fashion Photography (BA, Hons) courses. We are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate with extensive industry experience, and in delivering lectures within HE at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The successful applicant will have industry knowledge in creative direction and photography for fashion, and a keen interest in the latest industry practices. The ability to lesson plan for seminars, deliver lectures and devise technical workshop delivery within the specialism of fashion styling and photography in support of the academic aims of the courses is a must. In this challenging educational environment, the ability to develop and update teaching material and have experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment is also a requirement. They must be resourceful, self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, be a good team worker and be able to demonstrate an aptitude to problem solve requests while dealing tactfully with students. The ability to work under pressure is essential.

Essential Criteria
* A good honours degree in a related Fashion Styling & Creative Direction and/or Fashion Photography.
* Industry experience of editorial fashion and or fashion image-making, and relevant knowledge of the wider creative Industries.
* Experience of HE teaching/lecturing is desirable.
* Ability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy’s Professional Recognition scheme, within agreed timescales (as soon as is practicably possible and definitely within three years of commencement of employment).
Lecturer
* An in-depth knowledge of specialist subject and professional areas within fashion and related industries.
* A good understanding of pedagogy.
* The ability to develop and update teaching material and preferably have experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment.
* An in-depth understanding of research/enterprise and scholarly activity.
* Ability to develop research objectives, prepare proposals, carry out independent research, referee and contribute to peer assessment.
* Ability to identify areas requiring improved performance e.g. student numbers, student satisfaction.
