We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologist to join the Talking Therapies Team in Cannock. You will join a developing and innovative service that aims to provide the right care and treatment at the right time.
You will become part of an established multi-disciplinary team that has a strong emphasis on delivering evidence-based psychological interventions to meet the needs of individuals with mental health needs within our neighbourhood.
The role is varied and provides opportunity to build upon clinical skills, develop and implement group interventions, utilise service evaluation and research skills, and develop multidisciplinary team working skills; therefore good time keeping skills and being able to manage multiple, competing demands are essential to the role.
Main duties of the job
* To undertake protocol based psychological assessments with service users, family members, and others involved in the service user's care.
* To assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service user's problems, including simple procedures and techniques related to psychological therapies.
* To assist in the co-ordination and running of therapeutic groups including receiving and managing referrals under guidance, facilitating service user attendance, co-delivering the workshop material, and recording outcomes.
* To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary pathway meetings.
* To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.
* Assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, and project work.

Job responsibilities
Providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, individual and group based, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
Working independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT trained professional and within the overall framework of the services policies and procedures.
To work collaboratively with all pathway colleagues.
To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching, and project work.
To assist in the facilitation, administration, and evaluation of workshops.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A First or Upper Second honours degree in psychology OR a lower class with a post-graduate qualification e.g.: Masters degree.
Experience
* Significant experience of working with, mental health and/or offender clients
* Experience of working with individuals who experience complex mental health difficulties
