FLOOD RISK ENGINEER
Location: Lichfield
Salary: £30-£40k (Depending on experience)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Flood Risk & Drainage Engineer to join our client at their Lichfield office.
The Role:
• You will be experienced in Flood Risk Assessment and Drainage Strategy preparation and the detailed design of drainage schemes for residential and commercial developments.
• You will be required to liaise directly with clients, council officers and design team members such as Architects and Planning Consultants and as such will need to be able to provide clear and coherent advice by email, phone and face-to-face at meetings.
Essential Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
• A relevant Bachelor or Master’s Degree qualification (in a subject such as Civil Engineering) is essential.
• Experience of flood risk assessments and designing drainage schemes using MicroDrainage
• and/or Info Drainage is essential.
• Preparation of Reports for planning applications including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy Reports is essential.
• Knowledge of AUTOCAD is essential.
• A working knowledge of relevant planning and technical guidance such as the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), CIRIA SuDS Design Manual, Sewer Sector Guidance and Building Regulations is required.
• Strong numeracy, oral communication, and written English skills.
• Experience in all Microsoft Office packages.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to manage own deadlines, budgets, project resources and client expectations.
• Creative and logical thinker able to problem solve.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience of fluvial and pluvial flood risk modelling.
• Preparation of S104 drainage designs to secure technical approval from the relevant authorities.
• Supervisory, leadership and mentoring experience.
• The ability to generate new business through industry contacts would also be advantageous.
