Job Title: SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher
Location: Salisbury
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? A SEN school in the Salisbury area are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join the team. The contract is a long-term contract with the start date being ASAP until July with it potentially leading to a permanent role for the right person. About the School:
The school is based close to the Salisbury area for students aged from 4 to 16 years with around 80 students in total. The school prides itself on its high teaching standards as well as a friendly and enthusiastic team who collaborate on all aspects of teaching. The school place great value in their staff and offer loads of support to its team. The school also provides training to their staff and they offer on site parking. The school provides education for a variety of educational needs children including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN.
- Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their progress and development.
- Utilise various teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to support different learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to provide a cohesive and inclusive learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as necessary.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, independence, and confidence.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Specialisation or experience in teaching students with special educational needs.
- Understanding of various SEN conditions, learning difficulties, and appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external support services.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students with SEN.
