The team The successful candidate will join as a solicitor in our market leading Clean Energy Real Estate team and can be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The team specialise in advising developers, investors and funders on projects in the clean energy sector. The work will include advising clients on the real estate aspects of developments involving technologies such as offshore wind, onshore wind, solar and battery storage. The role involves a blend of transactional and advisory work. Candidates with real estate experience and a particular interest in the clean energy sector may be well suited to this position, experience in dealing with clean energy transactions is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. The role will include a mix of English and Scottish work with an increasing focus on English work. The preference is for the successful candidate to be qualified in English Law and ideally also in Scots Law. However, we will consider Scottish qualified candidates with a view to qualifying in English Law if successful. The recruiting team is enjoying a period of growth which is expected to continue for the foreseeable future, and is known throughout the firm as friendly and supportive. This is an opportunity to work with experienced colleagues and to advise some of the key players in the renewable energy industry. The successful candidate can expect to enjoy a degree of autonomy commensurate with ability, taking transactions from beginning to end, including drafting documents, corresponding with other firms and handing completions. Regular client contact is a feature of the role. The position requires the ability to be well organised and handle a significant volume of work, sometimes to demanding deadlines.
