Role description
LVGI/Allianz Personal Broker have a new role for two Personal Lines Underwriters (Broker) based out one of our offices in Brentwood on a hybrid working basis.
We have a great opportunity for someone who will define and deliver Personal Lines Broker product policy terms and wordings, and a fit for purpose underwriting risk control framework and audit process across all distribution channels.
Key Duties:
* To contribute to underwriting strategy in collaboration with Underwriting team and Managers.
* To define consistent policy terms and wording across all distribution channels, to manage underwriting risk and be compliant with regulatory requirements.
* To manage the systematic review of policy features, risk acceptance criteria and terms across channels, to improve underwriting profitability and be compliant with regulatory requirements.
* To review internal and broker product material to determine that it meets regulatory and LV=’s own internal standards of compliance liaising with Compliance Manager where necessary.
* Support Portfolio Managers in ensuring that any compliance considerations are taken into account at early stages of product or broker developments and initiatives including product launches and system changes to ensure that regulatory standards are met.
* Review large losses, and continually liaise with the claims department on emerging claims patterns.
* To establish a underwriting risk control framework and audit process, to ensure controls are adequate, and operational underwriting guidelines are adhered to.
Skills Required
* Significant Personal Lines technical underwriting experience.
* Experience of Underwriting business through Brokers and Software house systems.
* Insurance qualifications or progression towards.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Coaching and training skills.
* Able to work without supervision & be self-motivated.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Understanding of regulatory & compliance requirements.
* Problem solving & decision making skills.
* Experience of product development especially policy drafting and implementation.
* Report writing and presentation skills.

Our hiring process

* Technical interview: candidates who pass the initial review stage will be invited to a virtual 90-minute technical interview to assess their data science skills relevant to the role.
* Non-technical interview: successful candidates will be invited to a 90-minute non-technical interview. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better, discuss how you fit our company culture and for you to get to know us and ask any questions you might have. We prefer to do this interview in person, but if this presents any difficulties for you, please let us know and we can arrange this virtually.
