Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a passion for delivering innovative engineering solutions? Do you have a strong background in baggage handling systems or automated systems design? We are looking for a skilled Design Project Manager to join our Client a Global Leader in the intralogistics industry!
This position is based at Heathrow, where you will be responsible for the overall design of complex, integrated BHS, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, and project timelines. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make an impact in the fast-paced and dynamic world of airport operations and automated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and ensure the compliance of the BHS design with customer requirements, while adhering to the Integrated Management System.
* Coordinate the design of mechanical, electro-mechanical, low-level controls, and high-level controls for complex baggage handling systems.
* Lead the preparation of system design calculations, specifications, and documentation, including system simulations.
* Resolve cross-functional design issues and manage design coordination with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
* Support the project manager in maintaining a detailed project plan and overseeing risk assessments and health and safety files.
* Ensure that nonconformities are addressed promptly and corrective actions are implemented.
What Our Client Is Looking For:
* A degree in Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in a similar role, particularly with integrated automation systems within manufacturing or distribution industries.
* Experience working on airport baggage handling systems – hugely preferable.
* Strong design coordination experience and knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) requirements.
* Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
