Firefighting Training Delivery and Support Officer
Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster.
The purpose of this role is to act as a member of the Firefighting Training Delivery Team, initially supporting the delivery of theoretical and practical training in our state-of-the-art Marine Firefighting Training Centre, then once qualified, progress to carrying out the training.
Job Description
What you will be doing:
* Initially supporting the delivery of theoretical and practical marine firefighting training instruction.
* Once qualified, you will become an Instructor carrying out the training directly.
* Acting as Safety Officer for practical firefighting training.
* Acting as the Control Room Operator, monitoring safety systems and controlling the fire compartment settings and parameters.
* Ensuring all training equipment, training areas, and classrooms are correctly prepared prior to use.
* Providing First Aid response (training provided).
* Ensuring health, safety, and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with.
* Maintaining documentation, test, and calibration records.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience within Navy or Fire Service is essential.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written.
* Team player.
* Physically fit and able to wear Breathing Apparatus.
* Proficiency in using IT within the workplace.
* Experience and commitment to compliance with workplace Health and Safety regulations.
* Valid UK Driving License (desirable).
* Must be able to gain UK SC security clearance.
About Selborne
Selborne is a wide-scale, 12-year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN.
