Job Overview
To provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patients receiving haemodialysis.
The post holder is expected to provide relevant forms of care without direct supervision and participate in the supervision and teaching of untrained staff and students.
To play an active part in the continuing development of the Unit and contribute to the maintenance of an environment conducive to the delivery of high standards of patient care by promoting good communication and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.

2. Participate in the assessment of patient care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating the programmed of care in accordance with the agreed policies and procedures of the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust.
3. Communicate regularly with patients and relatives to ensure understanding of care pathways.
4. Liase with the multi-disciplinary team regularly to ensure timely delivery of care and foster good working relationships.
5. Act as a positive role model.
6. Encourage the use of evidence based practice.
7. Maintain accurate and legible records of care and other documents as required by the post.
8. Help maintain a pleasant and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
9. Participate in shared care and on call.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care delivered to individuals receiving renal replacement therapy (haemodialysis).
2. Participate in shared care.
3. Participate in the on call roster for acutely ill individuals.
4. Maintain accurate and legible records of care and other documentation as required by the post.
5. Participate in the supervision, teaching and assessment of students and other staff as appropriate.
